FAQ

  • How do I make an appointment?

Access our “Contact” page and get in touch by telephone, email or send a contact form to Dr Unter’s Medical Secretary. We are happy to answer any questions, such as what to expect at your first appointment and what conditions Dr Unter can treat.

  • Do you see patients with health insurance?

Dr Unter welcomes patients registered with health insurance providers. Please contact his Medical Secretary to check that your insurer is accepted.

  • Do you see self-paying patients?

Yes - many patients wish to access private healthcare directly, without involving an insurer. Dr Unter is happy to see patients on a self-pay basis. Self-pay fee details can be found below.

  • Will you perform an operation at my first appointment?

Dr Unter wants to ensure that you are supported to make the right decisions about your healthcare. All patients are seen initially in a new patient clinic appointment so that their history and examination findings can be brought together before selecting their favoured investigations or treatment. Surgery is then arranged as soon as possible on the next available theatre list.

  • Rescheduling and cancellations

Sometimes “life happens” and patients need to reschedule appointments. We understand and seek to be flexible wherever possible. Regretfully, due to the high cost nature of running a hospital service, cancellations or rescheduling with less than 48 hours notice will incur a 50% fee. If less than 24 hours notice is given, no refund will be issued.

  • Where can I find out more about my condition?

There is a vast amount of information available on the internet, some reliable and some less so. Please see these suggested, reputable resources here:
