What is a Consultant Dermatologist?
Only medical doctors with a Certificate of Completion of Training in Dermatology verified by the General Medical Council (GMC) are recognised as Consultant Dermatologists. They must complete at least eight years of postgraduate training after their degree, and pass rigorous exams to be able to meet the exceptionally high standard required.
As a Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Unter can assess, diagnose, educate, advise, prescribe, operate - and deal with unexpected circumstances. Additionally Dr Unter has a network of trusted colleagues and contacts in Dermatology and other specialties, should the need arise.
Dr Unter is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society for Dermatological Surgery and the British Association of Medical Dermatology. He has presented at international conferences, had his work published in prestigious medical journals and worked on multi-centre research trials.
